An international workshop geared towards

young professional choreographers, composers,

dancers & lighting designers

Taking place in Johannesburg from 23 July to 7 August 2011, the 2nd edition of Crossings will give the opportunity to young international artists to collaborate together under the supervision of a team of international and established artists (2 choreographers: Michel Kelemenis and Vincent Mantsoe, 2 composers: James Webb and Eva Königer, 1 South African dancer and 1 lighting designer: Floriaan Ganzevoort). The workshop will culminate with a 12min-long artistic creation showed on the stage of the Dance Factory at the end of the two weeks’ residency.

The dance classes and workshops will take place at the Newtown Dance Corner, in Johannesburg, which houses on the same premises the studios and stages of the Dance Factory, Dance Forum, Vuyani Dance Theatre and Moving into Dance Mophatong. Next door, the Bassline will provide studios to composers.
